Why Choose The Moore Law Firm

Experience and judgment. The Moore Law Firm's managing attorney, Philip W. Moore, Jr., has nearly a decade worth of litigation experience that has taught him not only how to fight a battle, but to identify which ones are worth fighting and how to avoid the rest.   While other lawyers sue first and ask questions later (a tactic that often costs clients more than it should), Philip tries to resolve disputes by agreement before taking the often unnecessary and expensive decision to resolve a dispute in the courts.  When it is time to go to court, Philip has the experience and judgment needed to zealously represent your interests.  Regardless of whether you need a deal maker or a litigator, Philip is committed to providing all of the Moore Law Firm's clients with focused, attentive personal service, and to helping them make decisions that they can both afford and live with.

Keeping you informed. Anybody who has gone through a divorce or been involved in a business dispute in litigation can tell you that the being involved in the legal system can be very stressful on the parties, their children and families.  With this in mind, Philip listens to his clients and helps them set goals for the representation before a single phone call is made or document is filed with a court.  This gives the client an understanding of what to expect from the representation.  Philip also helps his clients determine whether the representation is proceeding as planned by regularly calling and emailing clients of the Moore Law Firm to keep them informed about the status of their files, rather than by waiting for the client to call and ask for a status report.  In an effort to keep its clients informed at all times about the status of their files, the Moore Law Firm also send its clients copies of all pleadings and correspondence concerning the client's file as they are sent or received by the Moore Law Firm.  By listening to its clients, and by keeping them informed about the status of their files, the Moore Law Firm gives each file a personal touch that prevents its clients from dealing with any unnecessary stress.

Reasonable rates. The maximum rate charged by the Moore Law Firm for its services is $200.00 an hour, an amount far less than the hourly rates charged by other law firms in the North Texas Counties of Collin, Dallas, Denton, Rockwall and Tarrant.  This hourly rate is often adjusted down to reflect the needs and financial circumstances of families and businesses that would otherwise not be able to afford an attorney when they really need one.  The Moore Law Firm requires all of its family and business clients to pay a retainer, which is an  amount paid by a client of the Moore Law Firm before it starts work on the client's behalf.  The amount of this retainer usually does not exceed $2,500.00, but can be higher or lower depending upon a host of circumstances, including the nature, complexity and scope of the desired representation, the anticipated number of hours reasonably required to satisfy the client's goals, and the financial resources of the client.

Billing practices. The Moore Law Firm works to keep costs down by not billing its clients for routine travel time and administrative functions that many other attorneys sneak into the bills that they mail to their clients.  Copies of correspondence that are sent or received by the Moore Law Firm regarding a client's file are sent electronically to the client's email address, as are invoices and other correspondence.  Time is recorded and billed to the client by the tenth of an hour, rather than by the quarter-hour (some law firm's bill by the quarter of an hour, even if a task took less a minute).  Clients are always consulted about out-of-pocket expenses before the Moore Law Firm incurs services that it deems necessary to represent the interests of its clients.  This tends to keep costs down, and provides another way for clients to keep informed about the status of a matter that they have asked the Moore Law Firm to handle on their behalves.

Payment options. Hiring an attorney is often necessary, but rarely cheap.  In order to help its clients bear the expense of retaining an attorney, the Moore Law Firm accepts cash, checks, PayPal and credit cards issued by Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
